About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled C++/C# Software Engineer with 5-10 years of experience to develop and maintain production desktop software for Windows. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in COM and ActiveX, as well as secure coding practices, to contribute to our innovative mid-size tech team. Key requirements: JDs SOFTWARE ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS Must Have Skills • Strong C++ and C# / .NET development experience in production Windows desktop software. • COM and ActiveX demonstrated experience building, debugging, and maintaining COM components and ActiveX controls, including interop scenarios. • Windows internals: deep understanding of the Windows desktop platform (processes, threading, message loops, window/UI focus handling, registry, services, high-DPI, and multi- monitor behavior). • WebView2 experience integrating and debugging WebView2-based surfaces, relevant to New Outlook (Monarch), web Teams, and Copilot integration. • Secure coding practices: proven ability to write code that follows Microsoft security and accessibility coding standards, with awareness of common vulnerability classes and how to prevent them in a desktop Windows codebase. • Veracode hands-on experience running static analysis scans and remediating findings, ideally on a recurring/weekly cadence as part of release readiness. • Comfort working in a large, legacy enterprise Windows codebase with established patterns and constraints.
